The World C.L.A.S.S. is a global forum for thought leaders in the creative, cultural and lifestyle industries. We are a diverse movement interweaving the acumen of strong minds with the compassion of big hearts, amplifying deep-rooted efforts to advance the greater good.

Come network with bold thinkers at the Rubin Museum of Art on the first Friday of each month!

Our mixers are open to guests with in-kind donations only. The donations benefit our local non-profit partners- we collect non-perishable food for City Harvest and gently used books for The New York Public Library.

We politely but firmly decline monetary donations. We have consciously adopted a non-monetary policy in all aspects of managing The World C.L.A.S.S.

The non-monetary policy helps focus attention on creative problem solving by challenging us as individuals and businesses to work “outside the box”. No money is made, no money is paid.

Businesses that wish to align with The World C.L.A.S.S. do so through barter programs. If you have a business that wants to work with us, we’re open to hearing your ideas.

City Harvest exists to end hunger in communities throughout New York City. They do this through food rescue and distribution, education, and other practical, innovative solutions. City Harvest feeds 300,000 people a week in NYC.

Libraries are the memory of humankind, irreplaceable repositories of documents of human thought and action. The New York Public Library is such a memory bank par excellence, one of the great knowledge institutions of the world.

BOOKS:

The New York Public Library's neighborhood branches always need literary classics (from Austen to Zola) and contemporary classic literature (e.g. Vonnegut, Morrison, Huxley, Orwell, Kerouac). Penguin classics and Vintage paperback classics are particularly popular with our readers. There is also a steady demand for mass market and trade paperback editions of plays by Chekhov, Ibsen, Shakespeare, Arthur Miller, Eugene O'Neill, Thornton Wilder, August Wilson, Ntozake Shange, Lorraine Hansberry and Tennessee Williams. Resume books, basic computer titles and GED test guides are also needed in the circulating collections.

FOOD:

All types of canned and packaged goods are welcome, but no perishable foods please! This helps keep your collection site insect-free and ensures that all food collected is safe for consumption.

The most needed foods are:

• canned fruit
• canned vegetables
• peanut butter (plastic jars)
• mac and cheese (packaged)
• hot and cold cereal (packaged, family-sized)
